Project Overview
-
Partner: A world-leading Port Machinery OEM.
-
Equipment: 100-ton to 200-ton class Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHC).
-
Core Components: Main Luffing Cylinders, Multi-Axle Steering Actuators, and Hydraulic Outrigger Systems.
As a specialized hydraulic cylinder supplier, our role extends beyond manufacturing. We engage in Co-Design with our clients to solve the hydraulic drive challenges inherent in high-mobility, heavy-duty port equipment.
Targeted Technical Engineering
For the multi-axle, heavy-load chassis and luffing structures shown in the equipment image, we implemented three specialized technical breakthroughs:
A. "Zero-Corrosion" Protection for Marine Environments
-
The Challenge: Conventional chrome-plated rods fail rapidly in salt-heavy coastal air.
-
The Solution: We provided our proprietary Laser Cladding Alloy Coating.
-
The Result: Our rods exceeded 1,000 hours in salt spray testing. The metallurgical bond ensures zero delamination even under heavy impact, extending rod service life by 300% compared to standard solutions.
B. High Strength-to-Weight Ratio
-
The Challenge: MHCs require high structural rigidity for luffing but must remain lightweight for road mobility.
-
The Solution: Using High-Tensile Cold-Drawn Tubing and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), we optimized the cylinder wall thickness while maintaining a rated pressure of 35 MPa.
-
The Result: A 15% reduction in cylinder weight, directly increasing the crane's net lifting capacity and fuel efficiency.
C. Smart Integration & Digitalization
-
The Solution: We integrated high-precision Magnetostrictive Position Sensors and pressure transducers directly into the cylinder body.
-
The Value: This enabled the OEM to implement "Auto-Snag Protection" and "Precision Hook Positioning," elevating the machine's intelligence and safety rating.
Manufacturing & Quality Excellence
As a strategic supplier, we guarantee reliability through rigorous production standards:
-
Precision Processing: Our deep-hole boring and skiving-burnishing capabilities ensure an inner diameter roughness of $Ra < 0.4 \mu m$, minimizing seal wear.
-
100% Pressure Testing: Every MHC cylinder undergoes a proof pressure test at 1.5x the rated load before shipment.
-
Cleanliness Control: Our dedicated flushing rigs ensure internal cleanliness levels reach NAS Class 6, protecting the crane's sensitive main valve blocks.
Lifecycle Value-Added Services
We understand that in port operations, "downtime is debt." Our B2B service model includes:
-
VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory): We maintain a buffer stock of critical assemblies near the client’s assembly plant to ensure "Zero-Lead Time" delivery.
-
Preventative Health Checks: Our technical team conducts annual on-site inspections at the end-user's terminal to provide early warning for seal replacements.
-
Remanufacturing Program: We offer a factory-certified "Second Life" service. By refurbishing rods and upgrading seals, we help end-users save 40% on replacement costs while supporting global ESG (Sustainability) initiatives.
Partnership Outcomes
Since the implementation of our hydraulic solutions, the OEM’s MHC fleet has achieved:
-
99.5% Hydraulic System Uptime over a 3-year operational window.
-
30% Reduction in total maintenance costs for the terminal operators.
-
Client Feedback: "Among all our tier-one suppliers, your cylinders are more than just actuators; they are the most reliable safety insurance for our machines."
